Anchor: We’ll now hear from Saroj Lamichhane, who has been reporting the recent economic benefits of tourism to Yellowstone National Park.
Voicer: Yellowstone National Park has an INCREASING number of visitors in 2018 and the consumer spending JUMP UP to higher, but the overall performance of visitors traveling to the U.S is WORST.
318 visitors within the range of 60 miles of the national park have spent 20.2 billion during the travel. The spending has created 329,000 jobs nationally with a SURPLUS of $40.1 billion to the U.S. economy.
Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Cam told the Idaho State Journal that Idaho’s national parks are one of the VERY BEST taxpayer investments in this country... and the investment is VERY CRUCIAL to protect these INCREDIBLE places for the future.
Counter to the local tourism economy, the U.S. visits as a portion of total global travel rate is DECLINING. The USAToday news reports it is expected to DECREASE in spending $180 billion and there would be a DECREASE in 266,000 jobs.
The foreigners have concerns about dollar rate, trade war, trump’s stance towards immigrants and gun violence. Addressing these issues will make international visitors feel SECURE to travel in the U.S.
